Pag is an island in the Adriatic Sea, belonging to Croatia. It is the third-largest island in Kvarner Bay. When driving on the Paski bridge, you will experience what it is like to reach the island in the 90s. This was the only connection with the mainland for many years. Nowadays, you can also easily reach the island by ferry.

Camping’s on Pag
A camping holiday on the island of Pag is not comparable to a camping holiday on the mainland. The island has a very different landscape from the mainland of Croatia. If you drive from the mainland to Pag, it looks like a moon landscape. Much of the island has no vegetation, just beautiful white rocks and fields. In contrast, the other side of the island is very green, with beautiful beaches. Within the offer of Estivotravel you will always find a campsite that meets all your expectations!

Activities and highlights on Pag
The island Pag has a completely different landscape than the mainland of Croatia. If you drive from the mainland to Pag it looks like a lunar landscape. A large part of the island has no vegetation, only beautiful white rocks and fields. The other part is very green, with beautiful beaches. It is the ideal place for beach lovers.

The rich history can also be seen back on the island. In the capital Pag there are many old churches to visit, the 15th century palace of the Duke of Pag and an old defense tower. End the day with Pag delicacies in one of the cozy restaurants; the island is known for its delicious lamb. Because the island is covered with a layer of sea salt, the lambs consume this. This gives the lamb a special taste, which you should definitely try.

  • Discover the unspoiled nature of the island by quad

  • Search for protected birds in Veliko Blato nature reserve

On the island of Pag you won’t find any amusements parks. But not to worry, however, plenty of activities can be found here such as kayaking and quad biking.

Around the city of Zadar there are plenty enough of outdoor activities as well. The real adventurer will have plenty of fun in the Adventure Park Zadar & Biograd. Climb the rope courses, clamber in the tall trees and complete this adventurous day with zip lining. This adventure park is a must-do for the adventurer.

Because of its location in the Adriatic Sea and strong winds, there is little greenery on this island. Due to the hot and dry weather, many olive trees grow here. The Mediterranean climate provides many hours of sunshine. With its location on the water and little rain, it is often good to be here.

Starting in June it can already feel like summer, and certainly July and August are very warm. September is the best month to plan a visit to this island.

Scattered throughout the island there are several campsites. Perhaps one of the coziest is Camping Strasko, located near Novalja. At the beaches of Camping Strasko you will find the Blue Flag, which shows that it is safe and clean. The camping offers a lot of facilities for everyone and has several swimming pools.

The island of Pag is the second-largest island of the Kvarner Bay in Croatia. The island has a length of 60 km and a width of 2 to 10 km. The best way to travel to Pag is by boat, or it can be reached by bridge. During the summer months, the ferry departs around 20 times a day and 10 times a day during the low-season. A crossing takes about 15 minutes.

The other option is reaching the island by crossing the bridge. Please keep in mind that a trip via the bridge is about 100 additional kilometers of detour.

As a last option, you can also go by plane. The closest airport is the one of Zadar.

A typical local product of this island is sheep cheese. You should definitely taste or buy some of this cheese at a local market!

The island of Pag is hosting several large festivals during the summer months. At these festivals you will only find the best DJ’s in the world. That is why the island is sometimes called the Ibiza of Croatia.
