Located at approximate 40 kilometers from camping Vendrell Platja you will find the crazy theme park PortAventura World. Over here you will find 6 enchanting worlds that will surprise you time after time. The rollercoasters will provide a shot of adrenaline. There are several attractions with numerous looping’s or with a free fall. Even the smallest one have their own area. They will love the Sesame Street area.

A little further inland you will find PortAventura Water Park. Escape the hot summer days and cool down in the water. There are numerous slides to whiz down, or find the thrill and go for a free fall. Furthermore, there is plenty of room for relaxation, and floating down the long lazy river. 

Are you totally crazy about red cars with a horse in front of them? Make a quick pit stop at Ferrari land amusement park. This theme park is dedicated and completely in style to the famous Ferrari and his red color. 
 

The Costa Dorada has a Mediterranean climate, that are known for their hot and dry summers. In the months of July and August, it is a rarity that the sun won’t shine. With an average temperature of 27 degrees, it is pleasant to stay here. Maybe the best time of the year for a visit to the Costa Dorada are May and October. But please keep in mind that there is a slight possibility for a rainy day. 

On the Costa Dorada you will find several seaside resorts and various campsites. Our recommendation for a wonderful family vacation is camping Vendrell Platja, near the seaside town of Comarruga. This campsite is ideal for relaxing at the beach, but also lends itself for a visit to the cities of Tarragona and Barcelona. 

The Costa Dorada is ideally region for a beach holiday. It is suitable for families with children of all ages. With wide sandy beaches and plenty of cultural opportunities, there is something to do for everyone over here. 

There are two airports widely used for traveling to the Costa Dorada, Barcelona El Prat and Reus. Both airports are centrally located and easily accessible. If you are not going on holiday by car, you can easily use public transportation in Spain. There are many buses around this region. The places Tarragona, Cambrils and Barcelona can be reached very easily and quite cheaply.

While visiting a town, keep the siesta in mind. Between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., most shops are closed. 

Also, be sure to enjoy a tasty tapas with a drink during your vacation in Spain. Tapas are typically Spanish, and you share them with the whole family. By eating that way, it is possible to have a taste of everything.
